Esther has always had a love for animals, especially horses and was privileged enough to have ponies from a young age. Esther, together with her three sisters made their own pony club camp and would spend endless hours riding and show jumping at their local Equestrian Centre.

After leaving school Esther attended Rodbaston College and gained a National Certificate and later a National Diploma in horse studies. It was during her studies when Esther bought her first horse Candel and gained experience competing at one day events, hunter trials, BSJA and British Dressage (“BD”) up to elementary level. It was with Candel that Esther found her passion for dressage and the horse’s way of going.

Esther continued her studies at Rodbaston until 2005 when she graduated with a BSc (Honours) in Equine Studies. Alongside college and University, Esther completed BHS Stages 1,2 and 3 and took the preliminary teaching test exam and now holds BHSAI and level 2 Coaching Certificate. Esther is also a instructor member of the Teaching the Trainers of Tommorow Trust (TTT)

It was in her final year at Rodbaston College that Esther bought Fine Feeling, known as Fi Fi, as a ridden 3 year old. She has had the pleasure of training her to PSG dressage, competing at affiliated medium level and qualifying for both the Novice and Elementary Regional Dressage Championships and qualifying for he regionals at Medium Freestyle to music this year. Esther gained valuable experience working as a rider for Elite Dressage, riding and breaking young dressage horses as well as staring to build up her own client base.

Esther Bannister is currently Yard Manager and is responsible for around 20 horses at any one time and has a small team of staff who help her manage and run Prestwood professionally and efficiently.
